Ispace raised nearly €39 million in a Series C funding round, with Incubate Fund as the lead investor, the Japanese startup said. The new round brings ispace’s cumulative total funding to approximately €84.5 million, ispace said, including past Series B, Series A and seed investment, as well as its existing and new bank loan financing announced in June 2021.

SPAC mergers with space companies made a comeback, with Planet’s and Satellogic’s announced transactions raising almost US$900 million*. Purely private rounds added another US$366 million. The Japanese space tech start-up ispace is building its lunar lander at ArianeGroup´s German facility in Lampoldhausen, the company said. A crew of assembly specialists from ispace has settled in at the site, and activities are underway, ArianeGroup said.

Rocket Lab has opened a launch window for U.S. Space Force`s Monolith mission for 29 July, the company said. Rocket Lab aims at launching the Air Force Research Laboratory-sponsored demonstration satellite called Monolith into low Earth orbit (LEO) on its Electron rocket from its Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand.

Astroscale works with Mitsubishi on active debris removal and projects for improving space environmental protection, the Japanese company said.
