The 16th Edition of Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA), a biennial exhibition/conference, officially commenced on 23rd May 2023 in Langkawi (Malaysia) after a covid break. An exhibition traditionally focused on defence and military applications of aerospace and maritime is no stranger to displays of missiles, gun and automatic weapon prototypes and drones.

The Satellite Applications Catapult and Open Cosmos have signed an agreement to build and launch a key demonstration satellite to join the Open Cosmos OpenConstellation. As a result, the satellite will launch as early as Q1 2024. 

Nelco, an Indian satellite communications provider, has invested around $122 million in Piscis Networks, a network equipment start-up based in Mumbai, to bolster its services amid a growing competitive threat from international players. Nelco said in a stock exchange filing that it had bought an initial stake of just over 9% in Piscis Networks. Under the deal, Nelco can increase its stake to 30%. 

The Communications Module of the SpainSat NG-I telecommunications satellite has left the plant of Thales Alenia Space in Tres Cantos, Spain, towards the plant of Airbus Defence and Space in Toulouse France. The module will subsequently proceed with the assembly, integration, and test (AIT) activities of the whole satellite.

Business Wire reported on the 5th of June that Momentus, a US commercial space company offering orbital transportation and in-space infrastructure services, has signed an agreement with Apogeo Space to provide orbital transportation services for nine satellites. These satellites are part of Apogeo’s planned 100-satellite Internet of Things (IoT) constellation.
