GMV, a multinational technology company, have successfully concluded ground validation tests for a space robot designed to assemble structures in Earth’s orbit as part of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) MIRROR project (Multi-arm Installation Robot for Readying ORUS and Reflectors). Furthermore, the MIRROR robot can assemble large structures in orbit using smaller modules that fit in the launch systems available today, paving the way for new applications such as orbital solar power stations, large-scale telescopes, antennas, and more.

Euroconsult, a global space and satellite strategy consulting and market intelligence firm in collaboration with The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology of Oman (MTCIT), have announced that it will hold a conference to promote space in the Middle East and the country’s role as a strategic gateway for attracting investments in space applications and technologies into the region. The conference will run from January 8th-10th next year. 

Germany became the 29th country to sign the Artemis Accords on the 14th of September, reports Reuters. The Artemis Accords are a US-led multilateral agreement to establish norms of behaviour in space and on the lunar surface. Germany became the latest signatory at the German ambassador’s residence in Washington. The event was attended by NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and Walther Pelzer, head of the Germany Space Agency.

Furthermore, Spire will provide its detailed aircraft positional data, as well as its Flight-Report, which aggregates hundreds of millions of daily satellite and terrestrial ADS-B positions into an easily accessible one-row-per-flight information enriched with all the flight and aircraft data for post-flight analytics and reporting needs.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) India Private Limited announced on the 13th of September that it has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) to support space-tech innovations through cloud computing. 

Astroscale France SAS, a subsidiary of Astroscale Holding Inc. announced on the 13th of September the appointment of Philippe Blatt as an externally contracted Managing Director, effective immediately. As Managing Director Blatt will drive the growth of Astroscale France by building a team that collaborates closely with Centre National D’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) and other stakeholders.

Slingshot Aerospace, Inc., a space data and tracking company dedicated to improving spaceflight safety and optimizing orbital operations, have announced that former White House space policy official, Audrey Schaffer, has been named Slingshot’s Vice President of Strategy and Policy. Schaffer brings more than 15 years of experience in policy and strategy leadership for the U.S. Government, including at the White House National Security Council (NSC), the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Department of State, and NASA.
