Kayhan Space appoints Sita Sonty as Strategic Advisor

Edinburgh / Lafayette, Colorado, 16 September 2022. – Spaceflight safety platform provider Kayhan Space, focused on innovative collision avoidance and launch security solutions, has appointed space industry executive S. Sita Sonty, as the company’s strategic advisor. Sonty is Partner and Associate Director in the Aerospace, Defense and Public Sector practices of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

An international expert in space policy, Sonty previously led SpaceX’s human spaceflight program, accomplishing the first private sales of a Crew Dragon mission. She also guided the global market strategy for Starlink’s expansion. 

Kayhan Space will leverage Sonty’s aerospace product development and industry regulatory experience, including working with Raytheon and the Sierra Nevada Corporation. Over the years, she directed initiatives ranging from national security and policy frameworks to risk mitigation and supply chain.

Kayhan Space announced its next-gen Pathfinder spaceflight safety platform in August. The technology will enable satellite and mission operators to better manage operational risks and make preemptive maneuvers, the company said. Operators already utilizing the subscription-based, autonomous platform include Capella Space, Globalstar, and Lynk Global.

Kayhan Space is aiming for a comprehensive suite of spaceflight safety software solutions to make the full mission lifecycle autonomous.
