Intelsat & Infinite Orbits sign collaboration for in-orbit services

Paris, 22 September 2022. – Satellite telecom network operator Intelsat, chose in-orbit servicer developer and operator Infinite Orbits, to develop in-orbit service technologies for its satellite fleet, Infinite Orbits said. 

Intelsat operates one of the world’s largest integrated satellite and terrestrial networks. The company also provides inflight connectivity.

The newly planned service vehicles will feature autonomous navigation and on-board sensors. The spacecraft will perform several missions with “an agile and cost-efficient approach,” according to Infinite Orbits. 

The companies will co-develop embarked solutions for SSA (Space Situational Awareness) and satellite servicing in geostationary Earth Orbit. The collaboration aims to service the growing demand for connectivity.
