Telenor Satellite aims to satisfy rising demand from its customers for higher throughput maritime services on its THOR 7 Ka-band High Throughput Satellite (HTS) with a new collaboration with Newtec on its Newtec Dialog® platform. Newtec is a leader in the design, development and manufacture of equipment for satellite communications.

The UK's International Trade Secretary, Dr. Liam Fox, announced on 25 April 2019 that UK Export Finance (UKEF) will support an Airbus Defence and Space Ltd UK contract with Turksat, the Turkish communications satellite operator. Kacific Broadband Satellites Group has signed a fifteen-year agreement with Tonga Satellite Limited, a Tongan government company, to provide high-speed broadband via satellite to the Pacific Island nation.
