Portugal is developing the infrastructure for a national spaceport on one of the islands of the Azores archipelago, Santa Maria, a European launch and landing location for small satellites.

On the occasion of President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit to Japan on 26 June 2019, and in the presence of Frédérique Vidal, Minister for Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and Masahiko Shibayama, Japan’s Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Centre national d'études spatiales (CNES) President Jean-Yves Le Gall and JAXA President Hiroshi Yamakawa signed two cooperation agreements concerning exploration of the solar system.

During its 62nd session, the Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) adopted a preamble and 21 guidelines for the long-term sustainability of outer space activities. These provide guidance on policy and regulatory framework for space activities; safety of space operations; international cooperation, capacity-building and awareness; and scientific and technical research and development.

The UAE's National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) delegation has concluded its participation at the 18th World Meteorological Congress in Geneva. The delegation was headed by NCM Executive Director, Dr. Abdulla Al Mandous.
