London, 30 March 2023- Unseenlabs, a French radio frequency (RF) data and solutions provider for Maritime Domain Awareness, has announced today the coming launch of BRO-9. This will be the ninth satellite for its constellation dedicated to the geolocation of all the vessels at sea. BRO-9 will be launched in April 2023 as part of the Transporter-7 Mission aboard SpaceX’s launcher Falcon 9 from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

Unseenlabs provides maritime surveillance based on exclusive radio frequency data to allow the geolocation and characterisation of any type of vessel anywhere around the globe. These solutions are being used by public and private customers including the French Navy, NGOs, marine insurers, etc.

“The launch of BRO-9 is an important milestone for Unseenlabs and our solutions’ ongoing development, the most advanced in the industry,” says Jonathan Galic, CTO and co-founder of Unseenlabs “Our one-of-a-kind technology allows our customers to make informed strategic decisions to protect their assets and preserve ocean biodiversity.”

According to Clément Galic, CEO and co-founder of Unseenlabs, BRO-9 will strengthen the company’s ability to track vessels which might be participating in unlawful activities at sea such as IUU fishing, smuggling, piracy, marine pollution, etc. They can detect at any time of day and in any weather conditions.

Unseenlabs will have nine satellites in three years. This is an additional five satellites in production for 2023.
