Edinburgh, 15 August 2022. – The European Space Agency’s Business Incubation Centers (ESA BICs) in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Estonia launched a new startup acceleration program, Nordic Launch, to accelerate the maturation of startups, ESA said.

The pre-incubation program will bring together startups and industry expertise such as specialized technical and commercial mentors. The goal of Nordic Launch is for the participants to reach the ESA BIC Program. Under ESA BIC, startups receive business coaching and technical support, as well as cash incentives of €50.000 for up to two years.

Startups applying for the program must be focused on the use of space technology to create commercial value on Earth. The proposed projects could help solve space industry challenges as well as energy and environmental, agricultural, and health issues.

Participants will have access to industry partners, investors, and experts in business development, ESA said. Nordic Launch 2022 is backed by corporate partners such as Equinor, Nordea, Terma, GomSpace, SONY, Beyond Gravity, T-lab, and the Norwegian Space Center.
