Ibadan, 7 February 2024. – ThrustMe has announced an off-the-shelf contract with the French Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES). This purchase agreement is a testimony to the rapidly changing aerospace sector, where the lines between the legacy and new space are blurring. Long-standing actors such as CNES can benefit from complete and reliable industrial and standardized products for their space missions to accelerate development times and reduce costs.

The Contract sees CNES purchasing ThrustMe’s miniaturized iodine electric propulsion system, The NPT30-I2. The propulsion system offers unparalleled procurement efficiency with remarkably short lead times and impressive
performance levels. As a result, it ensures swift adaptability to the dynamic demands of CNES projects. Furthermore, the propulsion system symbolizes ThrustMe’s engagement in providing reliable and innovative solutions that are ready to launch,
facilitating rapid progress in space exploration and satellite deployment.

In addition, the contract signifies a remarkable shift in the space industry, illustrating the fading barriers between ‘old’ and ‘new’ space sectors. It also stands as a testament to the evolving ecosystem where space agencies and innovative companies collaborate more closely than ever. The direct order by CNES illustrates its procurement policy, now embracing agile and commercially focused strategies to meet the dynamic needs of modern space missions.

Ane Aanesland, CEO and co-founder of ThrustMe, expressed her enthusiasm saying, “Today, with dozens of systems in orbit and delivering to clients worldwide, ThrustMe celebrates the agency’s confirmation of our reliability and innovation in this future-oriented contract.”

Likewise, Philippe Baptiste, CNES Chairman and CEO remarked, “ThrustMe was able to design, develop and produce a very innovative product that meets the needs of the market. CNES is a proud customer of ThrustMe, their Iodine electric propulsion systems are key to the future of European satellites.”
