In this Space Café Radio –  SpaceWatch.Global’s Dr. Emma Gatti  spoke with Piotr Sitek,  governmental and new components, security governance officer in the security authority department of EUSPA.

This radio episode is part of a joint collaboration between SpaceWatch.Global and EUSPA, the EU Agency for the Space Programme. This three-episode mini-series delves into some core missions of EUSPA: security, EGNSS satellite-based service delivery, and GOVSATCOM. As EUSPA’s responsibilities grow in tandem with the increasing number of components in the EU Space Programme, this series strives to elevate awareness and understanding of the programme’s dynamic and evolving nature.

Piotr and Emma discussed about the notion of security and risk acceptance, why security is so vital when it comes to space assets, collision avoidance and much more. Piotr has a very genuine and straightforward way to explain how space security works. To say it in his own words, he talked to us like he was talking to his mom. And he actually did!
