This Space Café WebTalk will feature Dr. Clemens Kaiser , Chief Program Officer at Rivada Space Networks, in conversation with Torsten Kriening, Publisher of SpaceWatch.Global.
“Unlocking the potential of LEO: Data networks in the sky”
LEO constellations are entering a new era. Existing LEO constellations already offered huge latency and throughput advantages over GEO and MEO. However, they were more of a gap-filler between terrestrial networks. In the next generation, satellites will be equipped with inter-satellite links, creating a mesh network in the sky with truly global connectivity and enhanced security. This unique optical network fills a gap in the market and opens up a wealth of new service opportunities for customers.
Dr. Clemens Kaiser brings along more than 20 years of experience in the space business. Between 1999 and 2013 he served as a Managing Director / COO at Kayser-Threde GmbH, a systems house specialized in high-technology solutions for aerospace and science, where he was responsible for the development of KAP (Kayser-Threde Arianespace Platform). From 2014 to 2018, Kaiser was Director Programme Development at EUMETSAT, an intergovernmental organization founded supplying weather and climate-related satellite data, where he was involved into the sentinel 3 program. Clemens has an in-depth knowledge of system engineering and program management for the development of complex operational space-based infrastructures.
The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions in conversation with Dr. Clemens Kaiser.
