LiveEO startup secures €5.25 million funding

Paris, 7 April 2021. – The Earth observation startup LiveEO closed a €5.25 million funding round to finance its expansion, the Berlin-based firm said.

LiveEO closed an investment round with the venture capital firms btov Partners, Helen Ventures, DvH Ventures, Motu Ventures, the tech investor Andreas Kupke and an unnamed investor from the Silicon Valley. The investment allows LiveEO to “further accelerate the development of their market leading infrastructure monitoring solution as well as their international expansion”, the company said.

LiveEO analyzes satellite imagery and data from different sour es with artificial intelligence to monitor infrastructure grids such as railways, electricity grids or pipelines. It enables the operators of these assets to save operational expenses and improve performance, it says. LiveEO counts more than 30 grid operators amongst its customers, including Deutsche Bahn, electrical grid operators such E.ON’s e.dis or Bayernwerk, Tensio from Norway, E-Redes from Portugal and the German pipeline operator Gascade.

LiveEO has also been supported by the European Space Agency (ESA) and its ESA Space Solutions team.
