Space Café WebTalk Recap: Prof. Chris Newman On UK Space Policy – Back To The Future

In this week’s Space Cafè WebTalk, Professor Chris Newman, Professor of Space Law and Policy at Northumbria University in the United Kingdom talked about UK, its space policy and challenges.

“UK Space Policy – Back to the Future”. In this discussion, Prof. Chris Newman explored recent developments in UK space law and policy. He also explored the recent laws and regulations enacted by the UK in furtherance of the development of a sovereign launch capability. He also discussed the decision of the UK to try and push the international community to develop norms of behaviour in space.

In addition, Chris talked about his recent SpaceWatch.Global feature on the space law games and how this unique collaboration between academia, governments and commercial space will help to identify gaps in the information available from space.

He also answered relevant questions from the audience.
