Lagos, 18 December 2024. – iBOSS, the German company promoting flexibility and sustainability in space through its interface solutions for space infrastructure and robotic evolution, reflects on the new horizons that opened up for it in 2024, along with upcoming strategic alliances and portfolio expansion to come in 2025.
After its selection as a member of Q Station’s 2024 SpaceTech Cohort, an Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and U.S. Space Force (USSF) – supported soft landing program, iBOSS established its U.S. subsidiary, headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to expand its footprint in North America, as well as deepen and broaden relationships related to its flagship technology, the iSSI (intelligent Space System Interface).
Likewise, iBOSS, being a sustaining member of the Consortium for Execution of Rendezvous and Servicing Operations (CONFERS) since 2017, provided the Consortium’s current President, iBOSS Chairman + Co-Founder Joerg Kreisel this year. The company also joined the Consortium for Space Mobility and ISAM Capabilities (COSMIC) this year, aligning with its goals of being at the forefront of critical components in the global ISAM (In-Space Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing) context. And recently, iBOSS was selected as company in the Ignitor program by NewSpace Nexus, an accelerator and innovation hub.
Additionally, during the State of the Space Industrial Base 2024 Conference (SSIB2024) in Albuquerque, iBOSS unveiled its second space system interface technology, the iFEX (intelligent Fuel EXchanger), a fuel transfer interface solution.
While the company’s iSSI (laboratory model) user base and interest in iFEX grew in 2024, the outlook for 2025 is promising. With new deliveries underway, the iSSI upgrade will be in full swing, along with iFEX testing within the military space community. All of this will pave the way for iBOSS to enter strategic alliances, the U.S. market, and a broader portfolio that includes solutions for efficient, standardized hosted payload integration and modular architectures. Likewise, it will begin preparation for its next flights.
