This time, the SpaceWatch.Global series Space Café “33 minutes with..” is broadcasting live from the IAC in Milan. Publisher, Torsten Kriening and Editor in Chief, Dr Emma Gatti meet interesting guests at the event in their magazine format and discusses current topics with them live.
Dr. Simon Staehler, course director of the MSc in Space Systems at ETH Zurich, discussed the new master’s program focused on system engineering, data science, and sustainability. The program, starting next summer, will admit 30 students annually, with a tuition fee of 700 francs per semester. Dr Staehler emphasized the importance of system engineering for spacecraft design, data science for processing large datasets, and sustainability in space activities. The program aims to prepare students for real-world challenges, including political and regulatory aspects, and to engage them in practical projects like developing small satellites and robotic missions. Applications are open from November 1st to 30th.
