Ibadan, 12 August 2025. – Blackwave has announced the launch of its new web shop (COPV.COM) at the 2025 Small Satellite Conference, offering immediate access to flight-qualified COPVs (composite overwrapped pressure vessels) for the space industry.

In a first for the industry, Blackwave known for its standardized COPVs offers true commercial off-the-shelf space tanks for satellite propulsion, spacecraft, and launchers. By introducing the webshop, Blackwave is consequently removing procurement bottlenecks that have long slowed down development timelines of the space industry.

With the online shop, customers will be able to bypass lengthy RFQ (request for quote) chains and waiting periods. Instead, engineers, program managers, and procurement teams can now easily select and order COPVs in a matter of minutes— selecting from a dedicated portfolio of high-performance, mission-ready COPVs with transparent specs, prices, and lead times.

Furthermore, the platform allows registered users to access technical documentation such as specification sheets drawing, CAD models, and more. Likewise, direct purchases are available for civil programs in select countries via credit card or bank transfer. Additionally, buyers can initiate RFQs directly through the platform for other applications. Blackwave also intends to roll out additional functionalities, such as shipment tracking and part documentation retrieval for delivered hardware.

In a statement discussing the innovative online store, Bastian Behrens, CEO and Founder of Blackwave, remarked “As a builder of spacecraft and launchers you have a lot of challenges to solve – COPVs shouldn’t be one of them. With (COPV.COM), we’re making space-grade hardware available like never before: instantly visible, transparently priced, and ready to ship.”
