ESA Awards DRACO Mission Contract to Deimos

The European Space Agency (ESA) has awarded Deimos Space the contract for its DRACO (Destructive Re-entry Assessment Container Object) mission, ultimately worth EUR 17 million. The launch is tentatively in 2026, and the mission aims to be the world’s first demonstration of a controlled break-up process in the Earth’s atmosphere, using a 150kg satellite.
