Swarm Technologies´ website

Athens, 10 August 2021. – SpaceX has acquired the low-cost nano-satellite startup Swarm Technologies, filings to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) showed.

Swarm Technologies operates “the world´s lowest cost two-way satellite communications network”, as the company says, with sandwich-sized satellites and “out-of-the-box” satellite kits and modems.

The takeover for an undisclosed sum is probably SpaceX´s first public acquisition in the company’s 21-year history.

Swarm Technologies has raised $25 million in venture capital over several years and launched dozens of spacecraft – “the smallest commercially operational satellites in the world” as some experts call it.
