The 20th USGIF GEOINT Symposium 2024 is history. While the show ended, the teams for booth removal were gathering, Torsten Kriening gave a first review of the show. At the GEOINT 2024, Torsten Kriening spoke with Tsuri Shemer, Marketing and Business Development Space at IAI about their presence at GEOINT, their new OptSAR-550 satellites and the Mini Communication Satellites. IAI leads space programs for national security, scientific research, and commercial applications for Israel's MOD, foreign governments and private entities. 

During the GEOINT Symposium, Torsten Kriening had a chance to talk with Gary Dunow, Vice President for Strategic Development about the conference program in the exhibition hall, the USGIF Working Groups and the international expansion of the organization. Mr. Dunow joined USGIF in 2023 after he served over 37 years in the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense.

Unseenlabs is a French company based in Rennes, Brittany, and founded in 2015 by the Galic brothers. At the GEOINT 2024 , Torsten Kriening spoke with Clement Galic, CEO and Co Founder about the unique idea of RF detection services, use cases and future development. Unseenlabs has developed a new technology using radio frequency signals detection − or space-based RF detection − to geolocate vessels whose emitters are turned off. Unseenlabs uses satellites to provide data to its private and public customers (governments, shipping companies, NGOs, shipowners, etc.) worldwide.

At the end of day one of the USGIF GEOINT Symposium 2024, Torsten Kriening had the opportunity to speak with Ronda Schrenk, CEO of the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) about the first day take away, the observations at the show and Women as Leaders initiative of the foundation. Ronda Schrenk leads the Foundation in its mission to promote the geospatial intelligence tradecraft and develop a stronger GEOINT community among government, industry, academia, professional organizations

At the first day of the GEOINT 2024, Torsten Kriening had the opportunity to talk with Jasmin Inbar, VP of Earth Observation and Head of Corporate Development at Asterra to talk about the unique capabilities the company has to offer. ASTERRA provides a number of industries with intelligence and insights from beneath the surface of their largest installations.

The annual GEOINT Symposium starts with the GEOINT FOREWORD Day. Torsten Kriening had the chance to summarise the day with the Vice President of Programs at USGIF, Christy Monaco.
