Using the NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile, scientists have discovered a large object beyond Pluto that could become the Solar System’s sixth recognised dwarf planet.
Designated 2026 ED138, the trans-Neptunian object was announced by the International Astronomical Union’s Minor Planet Center on October 27.
