U.S. Space Force’s Space Based Interceptor Program to Support Golden Dome in Countering Modern Missile Threats

The United States Space Force has established the Space-Based Interceptor program to develop a space-based missile defense interceptor system that will demonstrate capability integrated into the GDA architecture by 2028.

Through an executive order, the U.S. government has acknowledged that the threat of attack by ballistic, hypersonic, and cruise missiles, and other advanced aerial attacks, remains the most catastrophic threat facing the country. As such, the Space Force established the SBI program to address this threat.
