Ibadan, 4 March 2026. – Terma has joined the Polish PIAST (Polish Imaging Satellites) mission to strengthen European defense and resilience by delivering its proven and trusted Terma Ground Segment Suite (TGSS). The PIAST mission aims to establish a comprehensive national satellite imagery reconnaissance system for Poland.
The mission is led by the Military University of Technology (WAT) with funding from Poland’s National Center for Research and Development (NCBR). In addition to the space segment, the program includes a fully integrated ground segment for satellite control and data acquisition, as well as advanced data processing capabilities.
Furthermore, the three mission satellites, PIAST-S1, PIAST-S2, and PIAST-M, have successfully completed their commissioning phase and are now fully stabilized in orbit. They will consequently enhance Poland’s space-based reconnaissance capabilities, marking a major step forward for the country’s sovereign space infrastructure.
By developing these critical components domestically, Poland also intends to secure full control over the acquisition and use of strategic image data, while building a strong foundation for future constellations.
Through its role in the PIAST mission, Terma is thereby contributing to the advancement of Europe’s collective space capabilities, demonstrating a clear commitment to innovation, strategic autonomy, and a more resilient Europe.
Furthermore, the company’s Ground Segment Suite mission control system met all operational objectives defined by the Military University of Technology (WAT), with its TGSS solution proving instrumental in the effective management and coordination of the satellite constellation.
