The first high-resolution images have been received from the Copernicus Sentinel-1D spacecraft. Glaciers in Antarctica, the tip of South America, as well as the city of Bremen, are visible in the radar images.
Copernicus Sentinel-1D joined the Sentinel-1 constellation mission in orbit after launching aboard Ariane 6, on 4 November 2025 from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. The satellite joined its twin, Sentinel-1C, replacing Sentinel-1A in the Sentinel 1 mission.
