Ibadan, 18 September 2025. – DiMOS has announced the official launch of SoLPOINT (Safety of Life Positioning and Operational Integrity for Automated Trucks) as part of the ESA NAVISP program. With this launch, the company is contributing to the development of new and necessary services for automated driving.
With SoLPOINT, DiMOS aims to establish a Technical Supervision Center with an innovative early warning service. The service will subsequently detect disruptions in satellite PNT (positioning, navigation, timing) and mobile communications (connectivity) at an early stage, reporting them to vehicles via roadside units (RSUs).
DiMOS is carrying out the project, running until the end of 2026, in close cooperation with leading car and commercial vehicle manufacturers. Meanwhile, the project has kicked-off with the first important results expected in the fourth quarter of 2025. These will flow directly into the design of a dedicated safety segment for autonomous driving.
The SoLPOINT system will subsequently undergo evaluation in second half of 2026 with validation drives on German motorways. The RSUs will detect disruptions such as jamming or spoofing and transmit warnings to vehicles in real time to secure driver assistance systems or autonomous driving functions in good time.
SoLPOINT consequently builds on the successful results of the ESA NAVISP project “Nav 4 Future Mobility”, where the relevant PNT performance parameters were identified and tested in live operation – including the use of simulated LEO PNT signals.
In the medium term, DiMOS intends to establish a national PNT safety center in Germany that will systematically support comprehensive and continuous detection, evaluation and warning of PNT disruptions. As a result, it will serve as a necessary building block for national digital resilience.
With SoLPOINT, DiMOS is continuing its mission to bring state-of-the-art space technologies to the road, significantly increasing safety in automated and autonomous traffic.
