Following MTG-S1’s successful launch, EUMETSAT has now assumed control of the spacecraft as it completes its launch and early operations phase (LEOP). This comes after more than two weeks of complex maneuvering, precise positioning and meticulous checks, with MTG-S1 now in orbit around 36,000km above the Equator.
