Kosmos 482 Soviet-Era Probe Reenters the Earth’s Atmosphere

Kosmos 482, a Soviet era Venera landing capsule that launched 53 years ago, has potentially crashed back onto the Earth, plummeting into the Indian Ocean on Saturday 10 May 2025. ESA reached the conclusion after it did not spot the descending capsule over Germany at the expected 07:32 UTC / 09:32 CEST pass at the Fraunhofer FHR ground station.
