Monaco creates bureau of space affairs

Edinburgh, 20 October, 2021. – Monaco´s Prince Albert II has approved the establishment of the Office of Space Affairs in Monaco. The creation of the new entity will “reinforce the attractiveness of the sovereign State in a new area,” said Frédéric Genta, interministerial delegate.

Monegasque aerospace companies, whose activities include the manufacturing of nanosatellites and planetary rovers, welcomed the development. The Office will make administrative procedures easier, and will also be the first point of contact for space-related businesses wanting to operate from the Principality.

The establishment will report to the Digital Platforms and Resources Department under the authority of the Minister of State. The Office is to represent the Government in the relevant international organisations to share knowledge and foster economic cooperation.
