Former Airbus top manager Chamussy to head Nexter

Paris, 15 March 2021. – New chief: After a long career in the space business, Nicolas Chamussy was named CEO of Nexter, the Franco-German defense company KNDS announced. He will also join the group’s executive committee, chaired by Frank Haun, KNDS said.

KNDS comprises two large subsidiaries, Nexter and KMW, and describes itself as “Europe’s leading manufacturer of military land systems”.

KNDS is the result of the association of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Nexter, two of the leading European manufacturers of military land systems based in Germany and France. Nexter develops land defense systems like combat vehicles and artillery systems.

Nicolas Chamussy held various senior management positions at EADS before. He was Chief of Staff to the CEO of Airbus from 2012 to 2016 before becoming Director of Space Systems and member of the Executive Committee of Airbus Defense and Space.

The Chairman of the KNDS Board of Directors is Philippe Petitcolin, CEO of Safran.
