ALL.SPACE has announced the appointment of Chris Emerson, a former airspace executive, as Chairman of its Board of directors. Emerson's leadership experience, which he has proven in his previous senior executive roles at Airbus, as well as his current engagement in the space industry, will be key in guiding ALL.SPACE as it moves its fifth generation 'smart terminal' into initial production, set for release in Q4 2023.

Viasat Inc. has confirmed that its Inmarsat-6 F2 (I6 F2) satellite, which launched on February 18, 2023, has suffered a power subsystem anomaly during its orbit-raising phase. At this stage, Viasat and Airbus, the satellite’s manufacturer, are working to determine the root cause of the anomaly and assess whether the satellite will be able to perform its mission.

Anzen Engineering, a Spanish aerospace engineering company announced on the 11th of August that it will participate in the ARIEL mission (Atmospheric Remote-sensing Infrared Exoplanet Large-survey). Astrocast, a satellite IoT operator, has announced the extension of its partnership with Airbus Defence and Space (Airbus) to enhance the capabilities of satellite Internet of Things (SatIoT) technology. As a result, it enables Astrocast to further increase its network capacity to provide the most reliable and cost-effective SatIoT solutions to its customers.

Satys Aerospace has announced that it is now extending its activities into the space sector after commissioning a facility dedicated to the painting of satellite parts. This new extension is in partnership with Airbus, which had representatives at the inauguration. As part of the partnership, this site will be responsible for painting the deployable radiators for the OneSat program.

SmartSat Cooperative Research Centre (SmartSat CRC) has launched a $7 million project to develop new autonomous spacecraft using artificial intelligence (AI). The three-year project, Spacecraft Autonomy and Onboard AI for Next Generation Space Systems, SCARLET-α, will bring together eight SmartSat partners.

The European Space Agency (ESA) and ICEYE have signed a letter of intent to empower entrepreneurship and encourage the development of commercially viable and sustainability-minded space solutions. The collaboration falls under the ESA Partnership Initiative for Commercialization (EPIC) and targets companies which the ESA Business Incubation Centers (ESA BICs), ESA Technology Brokers and ESA Φ-labNET support. 

Arabsat has launched its Airbus-built Badr-8 telecommunications satellite from Cape Canaveral, Florida. Based on Airbus’ latest geostationary Eurostar Neo satellite, Badr-8 will provide connectivity for users across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.

The European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) has awarded European Space Imaging (EUSI) and Airbus a contract to deliver very high-resolution (VHR) optical satellite imagery.
