The Nigerian Federal Government has announced plans to launch two new communications satellite in 2028 and 2029, as the country's operational satellite, NIGCOMSAT-1R nears the end of its lifespan. The new satellites, NIGCOMSAT-2A and NIGCOMSAT-2B, will accelerate the country's plans to strengthen security and expand digital connectivity.
