Dr. Christian Schmierer, CEO and co-founder of HyImpulse, discussed the company’s progress since their successful suborbital launch in Australia. They are refining their rocket for a future flight, expected by the end of 2026 or early 2027, and developing an orbital vehicle.
The first flight provided crucial data on engine performance under flight conditions, which informed new designs. HyImpulse is in the final stages of a Series A funding round, aiming to grow significantly. Ground testing will commence in late spring or early summer, focusing on engine iterations and stage testing. The next suborbital rocket launch is scheduled for Q1 2026 from Saxavord Spaceport in the UK, with preparations for orbital launches underway.
