Ibadan, 12 March 2025. – Rivada Space Networks is partnering with Amentum for a unique, ultra-secure LEO connectivity network to support mission-critical U.S. government communications globally. The partnership will leverage Rivada’s Outernet, a unified global communications network.
The Outernet is a global low-latency point-to-point network of 600 low earth orbit (LEO) satellites, combining inter-satellite laser links with advanced onboard processing and routing to create a ubiquitous optical mesh network in space.
This “orbital network,” in which data stays in space from origin to destination, creates an ultra-secure satellite network with pole-to-pole coverage. And by routing traffic on a physically separated network in space, it also provides a layer of defense for any organization that needs to share data securely between widely distributed sites.
The company’s subsidiary, Rivada Select Services, has also appointed three key board members to advance the Outernet satellite constellation and its impact on critical missions. They are Joe Maguire, former Acting Director of National Intelligence and retired Vice Admiral, U.S. Navy; John O’Connor, CEO of J.H. Whitney Investment Management; and Allen Parker, former Interim CEO and General Counsel of Wells Fargo.
“We are happy to welcome this stellar group of innovative leaders to the Rivada Select Board,” said Michael Abad-Santos, who heads up the Rivada Select Services organization. “Joe Maguire, John O’Connor, and Allen Parker bring unique perspectives to our company and board from their deep experience at the highest levels of national intelligence and naval defense, investment banking, and finance law.” He added, “They will collectively enrich our mission to empower U.S. government and civilian agencies with the world’s first self-contained global network.”
The Rivada Subsidiary solely focuses on securely serving the specialized connectivity needs of U.S. government’s defense and civilian agencies.
