One hundred years ago, the physicist and space pioneer Hermann Oberth introduced the concept of mirrors in space, which could either focus or deflect solar energy on points or areas on the Earth. Today, this is part of what is called geoengineering (GE) and it is regarded as a potential means to help us out of or at least to better manage the climate crisis.
