The first UN Sustainable Lunar Activities Conference 2024 is about to start. Torsten Kriening gives an overview of this fully packed day in Vienna. This conference aims to foster a meaningful discussion on lunar cooperation in view of our collective vision of bringing the benefits of space to all humankind. By better understanding commonalities within the different approaches of key actors, as well as unpacking complexities and challenges, this conference will aim to identify potential avenues for global coordination, as a fundamental requirement for sustainable, future lunar activities.
