Canadarm3 and the future of robotics in space

The Canadarm is an iconic Canadian contribution to global space exploration and symbolic of Canada’s leadership and investment in space-based robotics. This episode of Space Café Canada will feature Tim Kopra, a retired NASA astronaut and current Vice President of Robotics and Space Operations at MDA, which has been awarded a contract to build the Canadarm3, bringing this expertise to the Lunar Gateway. Building on the theme of Canada’s contributions to space, we will discuss the role of robotics past, present, and future and how it fits within next-generation space exploration focused on the Moon and beyond from the perspective of one of Canada’s leading space companies.
