ClearSpace has announced that it has successfully concluded a significant milestone in the CLEAR Mission. The Company concluded the System Requirements Review, marking a pivotal phase in the satellite development process.

Terran Orbital Corporation has announced final launch preparations for the RUNNER-1 satellite. The satellite launch aboard the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-8 rideshare mission from SLC-4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA.

Firefly Aerospace has announced the acquisition of Spaceflight Inc. to strengthen Firefly’s on-orbit solutions and service the entire lifecycle of customers’ satellites and spacecraft. The acquisition further supports Firefly’s robust portfolio of low-cost space transportation services, including responsive launch and in-space mobility, on-orbit hosting and servicing, and lunar delivery operations. However, the announcement did not disclose the terms of the transaction.

The Satellite Applications Catapult and Open Cosmos have signed an agreement to build and launch a key demonstration satellite to join the Open Cosmos OpenConstellation. As a result, the satellite will launch as early as Q1 2024. 

The Communications Module of the SpainSat NG-I telecommunications satellite has left the plant of Thales Alenia Space in Tres Cantos, Spain, towards the plant of Airbus Defence and Space in Toulouse France. The module will subsequently proceed with the assembly, integration, and test (AIT) activities of the whole satellite.

Speedcast and OneWeb have jointly announced the launch of OneWeb’s maritime LEO connectivity service. Following successful engineering trials, OneWeb’s maritime terminals have been installed on the RV Polarstern, in partnership with Reederei F. Laeisz and Speedcast, delivering the first fully-managed service and support.

OneWeb has announced that it is launching its “Try Before You Buy” maritime service. The service will take bookings from maritime users who want to benefit from OneWeb’s 100mbps+ enterprise-grade flexible connectivity packages at sea.

Kymeta and OneWeb have announced that Kymeta’s electronically-steered Peregrine u8 LEO terminal is now commercially available and will begin shipping. As a result, the Company becomes the first flat panel antenna to serve the maritime market on OneWeb’s LEO network.

Thales Alenia Space will partner with Serco, the leader of the consortium that the European Space Agency (ESA) awarded to implement the DestinE Core Service Platform (DESP), a key element of the European Commission’s flagship initiative Destination Earth (DestinE). The objective of DestinE is to develop highly accurate digital models of the Earth to monitor and predict the interaction between natural phenomena and human activities, anticipate extreme events, and adapt policies to climate-related challenges.
