Consulting firm Euroconsult’s latest ‘Earth Observation Data & Services Market’ report on the EO satellite-based downstream and upstream data and service markets predicts a steady growth in the next decade. The analysis also shows an increasing demand predicted for more expensive datasets below 30 cm resolution, 3D modelling and near-real-time global mapping, the firm said.

Satellite imagery and spatial solutions provider, Planet Labs, shared its financial results for the third quarter for the period ending October 31, 2022, demonstrating continued growth and momentum, the company said.

Our Space Café “33 minutes with Joel Spark” took place on Tuesday, 6th December at Spire Glasgow. Joel is an ISU (international Space University) alumnus and the Co-Founder of Spire. He is currently the company’s Chief Satellite Architect and General Manager of Space Services - more on that later. The Space Hackathon 2.0 was a student challenge organized by Leanspace, a newspace company building the digital infrastructure of the space industry,  during the annual Space Tech Expo Europe, held in Bremen on November the 15th and 16th 2022. 

Absolut Sensing, a subsidiary of the Absolut Group specializing in the measurement of greenhouse gas emissions, has selected Kongsberg NanoAvionics to build its demonstration satellite dubbed “GEN1” after a rigorous selection process. Under the mission agreement, NanoAvionics will provide its 16U nanosatellite bus, payload integration services, a satellite testing campaign, launch services, and satellite operations.

Our Space Café “33 minutes with Marco Ferrazzani - ESA Ministerial Meeting of 2022, the outcomes and the way forward” took place on Tuesday, 29th November. Marco Ferrazzani is the Senior Legal Counsel and Head of the Legal Services department at the European Space Agency (ESA), based at its headquarters in Paris. He is an advisor to the ESA Director General and to the ESA Council. He sits on a number of boards including those of the European Centre for Space Law (ECSL) and the International Institute of Space Law (IISL).

French aerospace lab ONERA (Office National d'Etudes et de Recherches Aérospatiales) has signed a contract with NanoAvionics, a space mission integrator and satellite manufacturer, for the procurement of two 8U and 6U nanosat platforms, dedicated to ONERA 's FlyLab mission.
