EIB backs Bulgarian nanosat startup EnduroSat

The European Investment Bank (EIB) invests €10 million in the Bulgarian nanosat startup EnduroSat, the bank said. EnduroSat provides software-defined nanosats and space services and serves more than 110 customers worldwide. With an annual growth of more than 250%, it claims to be “one of the fastest growing space companies in Europe”.

University of Zurich and Airbus to advance production of human tissue in space

The next ISS supply flight will bring tissue stem cells from two women and two men of different ages to the International Space Station to further advance the industrial production of human tissue in zero-gravity, Airbus said. The experiment will be carried out on the Space Hub of the University of Zurich (UZH) and Airbus Defence and Space. Initial tests on the ISS 18 months ago were successful.

James Webb telescope gets ready for shipment to Kourou

The giant James Webb Space Telescope is ready to be shipped to its launch site at Europe´s spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, the European Space Agency (ESA) said. The telescope has successfully completed its final tests and is being prepared for its shipment. The final tests were carried out at Northrop Grumman’s facilities in California, U.S.

Blue Origin tests Jarvis tank in Cape Canaveral

Blue Origin moved its first stainless steel test tank to Launch Complex 36 in Florida by modular transport to prepare it for testing. The prototype is part of Project Jarvis aiming to develop a fully reusable upper stage for the New Glenn rocket. The tank will undergo a series of tests to determine its strength and capability to hold pressurised propellants, Ars Technica reports.

Morrison Government grants permit for commercial rocket launch from South Australia

The Morrison Government has given regulatory approval for tiSPACE to launch their rocket from the Whalers Way launch site. The Taiwanese company will launch its rocket from the newly licensed launch facility in South Australia later this year. tiSPACE will conduct a test flight of its Hapith I rocket from the Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex, operated by Southern Launch.
