France’s telecoms regulator Arcep, has awarded Starlink a new authorization to use frequencies following a public consultation enabling the company to provide satellite internet access. Earlier this year, France’s highest administrative court (Conseil d’Etat) revoked a decision to grant two frequency bands to the company.

Space domain awareness and space control sensors and systems designer, manufacturer and operator EOS Space Systems, has become a core partner for the SmartSat Co-operative Research Centre, a consortium of universities and research organisations, SmartSat said. EOS is the 20th core partner alongside universities and global corporations like Airbus, BAE Systems and Nova Systems.

Sony Group announced that its American subsidiary has formed a new company, Sony Space Communications (SSC) to develop small optical communications devices for satellites. SSC aims to connect micro satellites in low Earth orbit through laser beams. Optical communications enable high-speed communications with small devices without large antennae or high power output.

The Tech4Impact Showcase 2030 is coming back for its third edition between 13th – 14th June and Space4Impact is joining the program with a half-day session on space. As the biggest sustainability summit in Switzerland, Showcase 2030 brings together leading actors of the impact ecosystem for two days of inspiration, action, and networking at EPFL’s SwissTech Convention Centre in Lausanne.

The rain cleared up in time for a small group of space nerds to say goodbye to the coastline of Carcavelos and get on a bus to drive to Lisbon. Today, on the final day of module 1, we had the honor of visiting Deimos and Luso Space. Deimos Engenharia has been delivering advanced design solutions and turn-key space software systems since 2002.

After an early morning swim in the waves of Carcavelos beach, I was ready for a day learning about venture capital, team management, and of course my favourite topic - sustainability. Low-orbit commercial satellite developer and operator Geespace, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Geely Technology Group, has successfully launched its first nine satellites into low Earth orbit to be utilized by Geely Holding’s automotive partners, the company said.
