The German Aerospace Center, the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt DLR), and Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA), have agreed to cooperate in the exploration and use of space. The signing ceremony took place at the 70th International Aeronautical Congress (IAC) in Washington, DC, the U.S. capital.

Rocket Lab, the global leader in dedicated small satellite launch, has partnered with Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT), the world’s largest provider of ground station services, to be the sole provider of ground station services for the Electron launch vehicle and Photon satellite bus customers.

A new consortium of international companies, called IRSA Development Group (IDG), was announced 1 October 2019 at DEFSEC Atlantic in Halifax, Canada. IDG consists of international companies with expertise in selected technology domains to bring the world an advanced remote sensing network.

Centre national d'etudes spatiales (CNES) President Jean-Yves Le Gall and Jean-Paul Moatti, Chairman and CEO of the Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD), the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development, signed a framework cooperation agreement at the agency’s Toulouse Space Centre on space supporting the development of Southern Nations on 18 October 2019.

Sias Mostert, chairman of South African company Space Commercial Services (SCS), has called for a national – even regional – Internet of Things (IoT) nanosatellite constellation that would provide dedicated and perhaps even persistent coverage of South Africa and neighbouring countries.
