Estonian space technology startup Spaceit, has signed an agreement with Rhea System to participate in the development of the new Cyber-Security Operations Centre (C-SOC) for the European Space Agency (ESA), Space announced. The center will be a key infrastructure for the economy and security of Europe.

The United States and the New Zealand governments signed a Framework Agreement to provide new opportunities for the New Zealand space sector and closer collaboration with NASA, said Economic and Regional Development Minister, Stuart Nash. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, and Vice President Kamala Harris, welcomed the completion of negotiations on the agreement earlier in May.

The Republic of Moldova successfully deployed its first satellite, TUMnanoSAT, from the Kibo module of the International Space Station (ISS) with the support of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) under the KiboCUBE programme, the Unites Nations said. Airbus successfully completed the performance enhancements of the SATCOMBw satellite communications network, required for the NATO commitment VJTF23, within the planned timeframe, the company announced. The Airbus-operated BSg-A ground station in Weilheim, Germany, became operationally ready at the end of the July.

The European Space Agency’s Business Incubation Centers (ESA BICs) in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Estonia launched a new startup acceleration program, Nordic Launch, to accelerate the maturation of startups, ESA said. The pre-incubation program will bring together startups and industry expertise such as specialized technical and commercial mentors.

Information services and Earth observation company, Capella Space, unveiled new capabilities planned for its next generation “Acadia” technology satellites, to further extend its data offerings. The new satellites will expand Capella’s existing constellation to provide high quality imagery and fast order-to-delivery speeds. 

High-resolution methane monitoring company, GHGSat set a new record in going from launch to the production of emission related climate impact data in just a matter of days utilizing its three newest satellites. The satellites have identified over 100 methane emissions since May this year.

Khayyam, an Iranian satellite has been successfully launched into orbit aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket from the Baikonur launch facility in Kazakhstan along with 16 smaller Russian satellites. The Russian-built Kanopus-V Earth-observation satellite is named after Omar Khayyam, a Persian mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, and poet.
