The Exploration Company, a European commercial space company that is developing, manufacturing, and operating a reusable space capsule called 'Nyx,' and Axiom Space, architect of Axiom Station, the first commercial space station, announced that they have signed a cargo service pre-booking agreement. In addition, the agreement is the first time a European space capsule has been chosen by a commercial space company to develop cargo transportation services from Earth to Space and back to Earth.

Terran Orbital, a manufacturer of satellite products primarily serving the aerospace and defense industries, have announced the official opening of a new 60,000-square-foot satellite manufacturing space, adding to its existing manufacturing capability. With this previously announced addition, the total size of the manufacturing complex in Irvine has expanded to approximately 98,000 square feet. Furthermore, this new addition enables the company to significantly boost satellite production, increasing it from an estimated ten satellites per month to more than 20 per month.

ICEYE, a provider of natural catastrophe solutions and insights, have been selected by the Federal Government of Australia to supply flood and bushfire hazard data for all states and territories across the country. Several states and territories across Australia have experienced record-breaking flood and bushfire events in recent years due primarily to persistent La Ninã or El Niño weather patterns. These weather patterns have resulted in either extensive periods of extreme rainfall or drought.

Open Cosmos, a space tech business making satellites that gather data to solve pressing global challenges, raised $50 million in Series B funding from three leading impact investors, ETF Partners, Trill Impact, and A&G. The round also included Accenture Ventures, Banco Santander InnoEnergy Climate Tech Fund and Claret Capital Partners, with participation from Taavet Hinrikus and Kheng Nam Lee. The funding will help to accelerate the company’s growth internationally and expand its offering to encompass sophisticated satellites and constellations as well as satellite-based analytics and insight solutions.

Atheras Analytics, a company notable for predicting and managing the effects of atmospheric/weather impairments on Ka-band and Q/V-band satellite links, announced its successful award of a co-funded ARTES development contract for its TEMPESTAS project. In addition, the project falls under ESA’s Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) Core Competitiveness program with the support of the UK Space Agency (UKSA) and SES, a provider of global satellite connectivity solutions.

ALL.SPACE has announced the appointment of Chris Emerson, a former airspace executive, as Chairman of its Board of directors. Emerson's leadership experience, which he has proven in his previous senior executive roles at Airbus, as well as his current engagement in the space industry, will be key in guiding ALL.SPACE as it moves its fifth generation 'smart terminal' into initial production, set for release in Q4 2023.

The European Space Agency (ESA) has announced the 20 laureates it has selected for the 2023 Rising Star Award under the Rising Star initiative. ESA's commercialization services department is responsible for the Rising Star Initiative, which aims at listing the most promising European space startups and scale-ups in its ecosystem. 

GHGSat has completed its Series C1 funding round for a total of US$44 million in equity and debt, which consequently puts the Company's total raised funds to more than US$126 million since its inception in 2011. Equity participants in the funding round included Fonds de solidarité FTQ, BDC Capital, the investment arm of the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), the Government of Québec through Investissement Québec, Climate Investment, and the Japan Energy Fund.

Terran Orbital have announced the launch of its Responsive Space Initiative. Under this initiative, the company aims to provide customers with satellite buses within 30 days and complete satellite systems with integrated payloads within 60 days. In addition, seven new satellite buses will be participating in the Responsive Space Initiative program.
